Presented a session with Lane Champa, current Lead Teacher and Coordinator of Play Us Forward, ProMusica Chamber Orchestra’s educational outreach. Our topic was Inclusion, Multi-Culturalism, and Appreciation via String Education.
I was invited to present a session by Crystal Sellers Battle, an energetic, passionate, kind, and beautiful person who created a large space at Eastman to discuss a wonderful, challenging, necessary set of topics.
Each of my students bring unique gifts to my classroom, and it is up to me to appreciate those gifts, and work within them, around them, and benefit from them, while hopefully sharing a few of my own gifts. A lovely challenge to embrace which makes each of us better.
